July 4-5-6

I just can't seem to get away from the bears!
Pic taken while riding down the highway.
Glacier, you can seen the ice bergs in the back ground.
Another Glacier shot.
Clouds shrouding the mountain tops.

The last few days have been fairly uneventful, I am combining these logs and will touch on some highlights.
The Elks in Homer had a big 4th of July cook out, I had some good food and stayed around for the drawings to see if I won any prizes, but I did not. I didn't really feel like Partying so thanks to the mid-night sun I headed out of Homer, fearing I may get stuck there for a while longer. I got about 1/2 way to Seward and found a nice picnic table and crashed for the evening, things were fairly busy along the Kenai Peninsula since it was the 4th of July Weekend. About midnight a Park ranger came along and told me that I could not camp on the picking table, I told him that I was just passing through and had gotten tired. He kind of gave me knowing look and said it was fine, but he did want to warn me that there was a problem bear about, I thought he was just trying to scare me, but in the morning when I took off, about 20 feet from where I had been sleeping there was a sign for a problem bear. Yesterday I worked my way over to Seward and Whittier and ended up at Palmer about 40 miles north of Anchorage. The Cruise ships come into Whittier and Palmer, I can see why, it is really beautiful, The Kenai Peninsula is just awesome. The Kenai and the Brooks mountain range have been my favorite areas of Alaska, It is ironic that they pretty much are on opposite ends of the state.
When I got to Palmer last night I decided to change the rear tire on my motorcycle for the next leg of my journey, I finally got it changed, and was going to head to TOK today, but I noticed I had lost some pressure over the night. I fear that I may have pinched the tube and have created a small leak. I drove around Palmer here all day and it did not loose any significant amount of air, but I decided to stay the night just in case. There is only one place near to here (40) miles which will work on my bike, and in case there is a significant air pressure loss, I will need to go there tomorrow and have it fixed.
The next leg of my journey will take me approx 1000 miles to Haines AK to get on a ferry to take me through the inside passage and then to Prince Rupert Canada, I need to be there by the 10th of july, the problem is that in order to get to Haines I must travel some very remote areas of road, go back into and out of Canada and once I get off at Prince Rupert, It is another really hairy stretch of road into Washington, so It is important that I don't have tire issues.
So in a nutshell that is what has been going on for the last few days, and also what I will be doing for the next week or so, it looks like I should be back down to the lower 48 about this time next week. There may be delays between posts, as depending on my tire situation, I may be doing some heavy days of riding.
